About

I am passionate about helping individuals and couples learn how to let walls down and let others in to experience greater connection in relationships. I bring research-based and effective practices to my work, equipping you with the tools and skills needed to not only give, but receive the kind of love you desire.

I specialize in Gottman Method Couple Therapy, a research and skills-based approach founded upon Dr. John Gottman’s 40 years of research on what it actually takes for couples to achieve healthy, long-lasting relationships. I help couples identify behaviors that are blocking intimacy and connection and work on building a solid foundation of friendship, respect, trust and commitment. When the relationship has a strong foundation, conflict becomes a source of connection rather than disconnection. Conversations are more productive because there is more compassion, shared understanding and mutual respect. You experience a greater level of emotional and physical intimacy as you are invited in to the deepest parts of your partner’s emotional world, and become a source of healing rather than pain. I’ll be upfront, it can take lot of work to get there. But I promise, it’s worth it to know you gave it a shot.

The model not only provides a roadmap for couples, but individuals benefit as well, learning the behaviors that erode relationships and the skills needed to establish healthy, long-lasting and fulfilling partnerships. I work most effectively with those who are motivated, ready and willing to do the work necessary for change. That means what you learn in session is put into practice outside of my office. Commitment to the change process, patience, an open-mind and intention are essential ingredients to making progress toward goals. I’ll be your cheerleader and your guide, but I won’t work harder than you. I believe that empowering you to take responsibility for your success is essential for continued self growth and gaining confidence in your ability to solve problems and create the change you wish to see.

As a previous employee of The Gottman Institute, I received advanced clinical training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and a certified Educator for both the Gottman Bringing Baby Home and 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work psycho-educational programs and workshops.

I would describe my approach as compassionate, caring, but assertive. I’m not afraid to call out the unhealthy stuff I see. I’ll always have you and your relationship’s best interest in mind.
